THE ONE WHERE
I’VE MEMORIZED
EVERY EPISODE

"We were on a BREAK!"
-- Ross Geller

When Friends debuted in 1994, I was a senior in college. Every Thursday night at 8:30pm my roommates and I would gather around the TV order 7 chicken and broccolis from Main Hing, get a keg of Bud Light from That’s the Spirit Shoppe and hunker down for 30 minutes with our pals Ross, Rachel, Monica, Chandler, Joey & Phoebe.

Then, the guys would show up with 4 more kegs and we’d have a rager.

How YOU doin?

Anyway, I think I’ve seen every episode of the entire series at least a dozen times. If I had to pick a favorite show of all time, this would be it. If I WAS a show, this would be it. We kind of grew up together, at a time when friends become family. And it still makes me laugh to this day. So now that they’ve reunited — 27 years later — you KNOW I’ll be there for you.

And it looks like I’m not alone. I heard that HBO Max subscriptions are up 600% this week, with the Friends special being the first thing viewed.

(HBO Max, could you BE any smarter?)

Seeing all 6 Friends together after all these years was a true delight. I literally had a smile plastered on my face for 143 minutes, and teared up no less than 5 times. I loved the flashbacks, the inside stories, the real bond they share and the special guests that made each episode memorable. The whole reunion was like putting on a cozy sweater.

It was simple, satisfying and sweet.

And THAT, my friend, is what they call closure.

THE BEST OF THE GUEST
